As the AssisTech Foundation continued to gain recognition for its efforts to promote the use of assistive technology (AT), more and more individuals began to support its cause. These individuals came from all walks of life – some had personal experiences with disabilities or had loved ones who did, while others simply recognized the importance of AT in improving quality of life for those in need. We formed a close knit community of such individuals called “Friends of ATF” which includes leaders from Business, Social & Disability Sector, Technology, Government, Educational Institutes, Venture Funding, Research Labs, Diversity & Inclusion, Corporate CSR etc. These individuals recognized the importance of the AssisTech Foundation’s work and lent their support in various ways. Some donated time, money, or resources, while others simply spread the word about the foundation’s mission to friends and family. Regardless of their background or personal experiences, these individuals shared a common belief – that everyone, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, deserves the opportunity to live their best life, with the help of assistive technology when needed.
